three old das after a hard day rapping

“You aint a gangster cuz you done a little time…”

For our sins we respect the classics round here. Not so much rappers who can still cut a mean riff even if they don’t have a proper album in them anymore — mean enough to get yr head nodding while you browse for inadvisable tracksuits at least.

But no. When we talk about the classics we’re probably talking about old blog posts that have us wanting to make announcements like—

Dad rap is back in the building (shout outs Czarface, not with us today even if technically they never left).

Scarface is in the building. And not the one they shoot the cute modern unpluggeds in these days either.

Red Bull is in the building, since apparently the only way to get a camera in the building with you is to take that corporate cash. RIP Bill Hicks, you would have loved the red pill (not sure which one tbh).

Honking taurine piss is therefore also in the building, whether we like it or not.

Ghostface is back in the building. You can always rely on him to show up when he’s faced with some old lad he respects on the mic.

Ghost’s stylist sister is still in the building.

As a direct consequence, those inadvisable tracksuits will be in the building soon. Lord help us.

Ghost’s gayest kid is… probably not in the building, which is a damn shame.

Ghost’s soul is still where it’s been since Ghostdini, struggling to find a conduit to the modern world. Shout outs to The Wire for printing the best review of Set The Tone!

Kool G Rap is in the building/Kool G Rap might actually be the building.

Like seriously, fuck me, turns out I sometimes do want to spend time down the guitar shop hearing someone show off their chops. Who knew?
